RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
IN RECOGNITION OF THE 100TH BIRTHDAY OF H. ARCHIE RICHARDSON
WHEREAS, H. Archie Richardson has been a resident of San Rafael for
the last 10y ears and has become a familiar figure to many
and a regular patron of our library; and �r
WHEREAS,
H. Archie Richardson serves as a living example of the merits
of self education, having no formal education since the age
of 13 and going on to become an accomplished musician and
later a sportswriter and author; and
WHEREAS, H. Archie Richardson has pursued a life-long interest in
track and field and authored a book Archie's Little Black
Book of Records which will be in its eighth edition this
month, and
WHEREAS, H. Archie Richardson has demonstrated a deep interest in
children and in passing on to them his philosophy of
perserverence in striving for excellence,
WHEREAS, H. Archie Richardson will be celebrating his 100th birthday
on July 18, 1979,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of San Rafael
extend their congratulations to Mr. Richardson on this
memorable occasion and their sincere wishes that he continue
his pursuit of excellence for all to emulate for many years
to come.
