HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 5803 (Setting Tow Car Business Fees)RESOLUTION NO. 5803 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL SETTING FEES PURSUANT TO TOW CAR BUSINESS AND OPERATORS ORDINANCE WHEREAS, pursuant to Title 10, Chapter 10.84, Section 10.84.030 (6), the City Council of the City of San Rafael is authorized to set the rates to be charged for towing services; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Title 10, Chapter 10.84, Section 10.84.030 (8), the City Council is authorized to set a fee for the processing of the application provided for in Chapter 10.84. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows: The City Council of the City of San Rafael hereby establishes the following fees for towing services pursuant to Section 10.84.040 (6): A. Fees for normal tow within five miles or fifteen minutes TIME PERIOD CHARGE (i) 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. $25.00 (ii) 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. 32.00 (iii) 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. 37.00 B. TOW AWAY ZONE TOWS: (i) $18.00 with no storage charge for that day (ii) 7.00 additional for locked steering and/or transmission (iii) 5.00 show up if no tow is made C. STORAGE: (i) $ 6.00 per calendar day, outside (ii) 7.00 per calendar day, inside (iii) 10.00 per calendar day, inside or outside for vehicles over one ton (iv) 6.00 per calendar day, inside or outside for motorcycles D. ADDITIONAL CHARGES: (i) Basic Tow rate for extra truck with operator (ii) $15.00 per hour for extra man (iii) Dolly -Tow $18.00 in addition to regular tow fee (iv) $10.00 for night release of stored vehicle (6:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.) (v) $ 3.00 per mile - over mileage outside City Limits (vi) $35.00 per hour labor for extraordinary service E. SPECIAL EQUIPMENT: (i) Medium duty tow truck $35.00 per hour - 2 hour minimum (ii) Heavy duty tow truck $45.00 per hour - 2 hour minimum (iii) 4 -wheel drive tow truck $35.00 per hour - 2 hour minimum (iv) Motorcycle towing $30.00 IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San Rafael hereby sets the fee of $15.00 for the processing of the applications as set forth in Chapter 10.84.040 (8). -I- OL$IGINAL o RESOLUTION NO. 5803 I, JEANNE M.
