RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN RAFAEL RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 5819
(AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF PUBLIC WORKS
VEHICLES UTILIZING EQUIPMENT REPLACEMENT FUNDS)
WHEREAS, The City of San Rafael prepared specifications for three dump
bodies and three cab and chassis' calling for bids on vehicles with 24,000 GVW,
automatic transmissions and air brakes; and
WHEREAS, The City Council and staff have determined that these specifi-
cations are inappropriate for the use intended; and
WHEREAS, The City Council and staff wish to prepare new specifications
based upon a lower gross vehicle weight, standard transmissions and hydraulic
brakes; and
WHEREAS, by this action the City will save taxpayers' funds and still
provide high quality service;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the resolution awarding contracts
to Heil Equipment, Fremont and ISI, San Rafael is hereby rescinded and their bids
rejected for the reasons stated above.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, City Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby
certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and
adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of said City held on Mnnrla.3z
the
third day of December
1979
by the following vote, to wit:
