A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SIGNING OF A
CONTRACT, LEASE OR AGREEMENT
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL RESOLVES as follows:
The MAYOR and CITY CLERK are authorized to execute, on behalf of the
City of San Rafael a contract, lease or agreement with
Trinity Community Church re Conducting of Easter Sunrise
Services on San Rafael Hill
a copy of which is hereby attached and by this reference made a part hereof.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, City Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby
certify that
the foregoing
resolution
was duly and regularly introduced and
adopted at a
regular
meeting
of the City Council of said City held on
Monday

THIS AGREEMENT entered into on this 2J r' day of ,
1978, between the CITY OF SAN RAFAEL (hereinafter called "City") and
the TRINITY COMMUNITY CHURCH (hereinafter called "Church");
WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, to provide an inspirational environment for Easter
sunrise services and to provide a community service for those citizens
desiring to attend said services, City agrees to permit use of that
area generally known as San Rafael Hill by Church for the purposes
of conducting inter -denominational Easter sunrise services on the
morning of Easter Day, March 26, 1978; and
WHEREAS, in consideration of City's permission to use public
land for public, inter -denominational Easter sunrise services, Church
hereby agrees to the following:
1. To limit use of said property for the reasonable purposes
attendant to preparing for and conducting of Easter sunrise services.
2. To indemnify and hold harmless City and its employees,
officials, and agents from liability and against all demands, claims,
actions, losses and expenses which may accrue or arise as a result of
said religious services.
3. To furnish, prior to execution of this Agreement, evi-
dence in the form of a Certificate of Insurance of Church for Com-
prehensive General Liability in the amount of $100,000.00 for injury
to each person, $300,000.00 for each occurrence, and $2,000,000.00
of Comprehensive Excess Indemnity; or, in the alternative, a Certi-
ficate of Insurance reflecting that City is named as an additional
insured for the purposes of indemnification from liability resulting
from the Easter Day ceremonies on March 26, 1978.
