COMMENT:
418 Mission Avenue is a large imposing residence set well back from the street
among impressive old trees.
The house is in excellent condition. However the front door is modern and, being
inappropriate in style, should be replaced. The asbestos siding is a quality instal-
lation and does not detract from the architecture of the building. It is light grey and
harmonizes with the white painted trim and the classic Italianate eaves and cornices.
The stone wall on the front of the property is excellent but has been damaged at the
driveway entrance and should be repaired, There is an impressive iron gate at the
pedestrian entrance.
