PRESENTS THIS

WHEREAS, on the 20th day of March, 1978, DANIEL C. DUFFICY
voluntarily resigned as a member of the Fire Commission
after having rendered six years of able, dedicated service
to the City of San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, COMMISSIONER DUFFICY, by virtue of his expertise as an
Insurance Agent, made numerous contributions in those
areas requiring technical knowledge and proficiency; and
WHEREAS, COMMISSIONER DUFFICY's expertise was reflected in his
guidance as Chairman of the Fire Commission during the
formulation and adoption of our Sprinkler Ordinance, Smoke
Detection Ordinance and innovative fire protection approaches
to insure effective fire loss management;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby accepts
COMMISSIONER DUFFICY's resignation and extends him
sincere appreciation for the contributions he has made to
the betterment of the community's fire protection system
and the welfare of its citizens.
