A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
APPLYING TO THE MARIN LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION
FOR AN ANNEXATION OF REAL PROPERTY KNOWN AS
SUN VALLEY SCHOOL, 75 HAPPY LANE (A. P. NO. 177-240-12)
PURSUANT TO THE MUNICIPAL ORGANIZATION ACT
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Municipal Organization Act of 1977, commencing
with Section 3500 of the California Government Code, the City Council representing
the City of San Rafael may, by resolution adopted by the legislative body, initiate
proceedings involving annexation to said City; and
WHEREAS, the subject territory is located in the County of Marin.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
Section 1. Application, which is hereby made to the Marin Local Agency Forma-
tion Commission of the County of Marin, proposes the following:
A. This proposal is made pursuant to, and is in compliance with provisions of
the Municipal Organization Act of 1977.
B. Said application requests that proceedings be taken for annexation of inhabi-
ted territory affecting the City of San Rafael .
C. The boundaries of the affected territory are illustrated on an attached map,
and are described in Exhibit A, an attached legal description.
D. This proposal is submitted for the following reasons:
1. This site is located on land directly adjacent to City property and logi-
cally falls under the City service area.
2. Said annexation will enable Sun Valley School to obtain municipal ser-
vices for which property owner is presently ineligible i.e. Fire, Police,
Parks & Recreation.
Section 2. This resolution is submitted and shall be accompanied by a plan for
services prepared by the City of San Rafael pursuant to Section 35102 of the California
Government Codes.
Section 3. The Clerk of the City of San Rafael is hereby authorized and directed
to file a certified copy of this resolution with the Executive Officer of the Local Agency
Formation Commission of the County of Marin.

I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that
the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular
meeting of the Council of said City on Wednesday, the 5th day of July, 1978, by the
following vote, to -wit:
