A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR CERTIFICATION OF THE CITY'S HISTORIC
PRESERVATION ORDINANCE NOS. 1191, 1264 AND 1297 BY THE NATIONAL
PARK SERVICE OF THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF INTERIOR
WHEREAS, the National Park Service of the United States Department of
the Interior has adopted procedures and regulations requiring the Certification of
State and local statutes for Historic Preservation in accordance with the provisions
of the Historic Preservation Tax Reform Act of 1976; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Rafael desires to obtain
Certification of the City's Historic Preservation Ordinance Nos. 1191, 1264 and
1297 so that an owner of a structure in an Historic District created by the City
Historic Preservation legislation can under these regulations take advantage of the
provisions of the Historic Preservation Tax Reform Act of 1976;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
San Rafael hereby:
1 . Approves the filing of an Application for Certification of the City of
San Rafael's Historic Preservation Ordinance with the National Park
Service, United States Department of Interior; and
2. Appoints and authorizes the City Manager or his authorized representa-
tive as agent of the City to coordinate and process all ancillary documents
within the scope of the Application for Certification on behalf of the City.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, City Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that
the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular
meeting of the Council of the City of San Rafael held on Monday the
seventh day of August , 1978 by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Jensen, Nixon and Mayor Bettini
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: Miskimen and Mulryan
