RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
AUTHORIZING THE SAN RAFAEL FIRE DEPARTMENT TO RESPOND
TO CALLS OUTSIDE THE COUNTY
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Rafael has heretofore
adopted a Resolution providing for mutual aid and cooperation between the
Fire Department of San Rafael and the Fire Departments of other municipalities
and fire protection districts within the County of Marin; and
WHEREAS, additional fire protection can be provided to the residents
of the City of San Rafael by authorizing such mutual aid and cooperation between
the Fire Department of the City of San Rafael and the Fire Departments of other
public agencies outside the County of Marin as well as within the County of
Marin;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED that the Fire Chief, or his authorized
designee, is hereby authorized, with the concurrence of the City Manager to
dispatch men and equipment outside of the boundaries of the City of San Rafael
or the boundaries of the County of Marin, when in his discretion, the equipment
and personnel sent outside the boundaries of the City do not jeopardize the
lives and property of the residents of this City, and when he is requested to
furnish personnel and equipment by the Marin County Fire and Rescue Coordinator.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, City Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby
certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and
adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of said City held on
Monday the eighteenth day of September 19 78 by the
following vote, to wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Miskimen, Mulryan, Nixon and Vice -Mayor Jensen
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: Mayor Bettini
