RESOLUTION OF THE SAN RAFAEL CITY COUNCIL
ENDORSING IN CONCEPT THE RELOCATION OF
ROSS GENERAL HOSPITAL TO THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
WHEREAS, the Ross General Hospital has long served the medical
needs of Marin County; and
WHEREAS, the present hospital facility now in use by Ross General
Hospital has been determined to be out of date to serve the medical needs
of Marin County; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of Ross General Hospital to construct
a new hospital facility and adjacent doctors' offices; and
WHEREAS, the decision has been made by Ross General Hospital to
place this facility within the City of San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, the San Rafael City Council and the San Rafael Planning
Commission have reviewed and approved a specific development plan by Ross
General Hospital.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the San Rafael City Council
unanimously supports the relocation of Ross General Hospital to the City
of San Rafael in that it will provide a higher level of service to the
community of San Rafael and to Marin County and will be complimentary to
the expressed needs and desires of the community; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of San Rafael urges the State
Health Board to approve Ross General Hospital's application for construction
of a new facility and adjoining medical offices in the City of San Rafael.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, City Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby
certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and
adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of said City held on
Monday the twentieth day of November 1978, by the
following vote, to wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Jensen, Miskimen, Mulryan and Mayor Bettini
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None
ABSTAINED: COUNCILMEN: Nixon
