HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 5575RESOLUTION NO. 5575 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL REQUESTING THE MARIN COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO CONDUCT AN ELECTION TO COINCIDE WITH THE SAN RAFAEL CITY SCHOOL ELECTION FOR PARAMEDIC SERVICE IN THE UNINCORPORATED AREAS OF SANTA VENETIA, LOS RANCHITOS MARINWOOD, UPPER LUCAS VALLEY, BAYSIDE ACRES, COUNTRY CLUB, CALIFORNIA PARK, SAN QUENTIN VILLAGE AND DILLINGHAM PROPERTY WHEREAS, it is in the general public interest, convenience and welfare that the citizens of San Rafael, Marinwood and the surrounding unincorporated areas receive prompt, efficient and proper paramedic service; and WHEREAS, the City of San Rafael through its Fire Department will provide such service not only within its own jurisdiction, but the surround- ing unincorporated areas and Marinwood known as County Paramedic Service Area B; and WHEREAS, such life saving service will cost each dwelling unit twelve ($12) dollars per year or one ($1.00) dollar per month; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Rafael is placing a paramedic Service ballot issue on the City's March election for voter ratification; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Rafael's jurisdiction does not extend into the unincorporated areas or Marinwood; and WHEREAS, the San Rafael School election is being conducted simulta- neously with the City's election and also extends into the unincorporated areas and Marinwood; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San Rafael requests that the Marin County Board of Supervisors consolidate the Paramedic ballot issue with the San Rafael City School election, and extend such ballot issue into the unincorporated areas and Marinwood. I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, City Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of said City held on Monday the fourth day of December 19 78 by the following vote, to wit: AYES: COUNCILMEN: Jensen, Miskimen, Mulryan, Nixon and Mayor Bettini NOES: COUNCILMEN: None ABSENT: COUNC I LMEN: None ANNE M.
