RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN RAFAEL ELIMINATING TAXICAB STAND AT THE
SOUTHEAST CORNER OF FOURTH ANDA' STREETS AND
ESTABLISHING NEW STAND ON THE EASTERLY SIDE OF
'B' STREET BETWEEN FIRST AND SECOND STREETS
WHEREAS, by prior resolution in 1958, the City Council
established a curb -side taxi stand at the east side of 'A' Street just
south of Fourth Street; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined by staff observation that the
taxicab stand at said location is now seldom used; and
WHEREAS, to allow this use to remain would be to deny the
public one additional parking space in the Central Business District;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of San Rafael, that authorization for and use of the curb -side
taxi stand at the east side of 'A' Street just south of Fourth Street
is hereby rescinded effective December 31, 1978. Any use fees paid
beyond December 31, 1978 by the taxicab company will be refunded by
the City.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that a new curb -side taxi stand is
hereby established on the easterly side of 'B' Street between First
and Second Streets just south of the northerly entrance into the Safe-
way Shopping Center, subject to the annual payment of $250 by the
taxicab company.
