RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ASSIGNMENT OF
UNCOLLECTABLE DEBTS TO A SAN RAFAEL
COLLECTION AGENCY
WHEREAS, it has been determined that there are persons
who owe the City monies as a result of damages to City property,
or otherwise, and now cannot be located by the San Rafael Police
or the Sheriff's Department;
WHEREAS, collection agencies have intercounty and inter-
state affiliates and the capability of tracking down illusive
debtors;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Treasurer
is authorized to assign debts to a San Rafael collection agency
if he determines that the debtor cannot be served by the San Rafael
Police Department or the Civil Section of the Sheriff's Department
for the County of Marin,
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, City Clerk of the City of San Rafael
do hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regu-
larly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the City
Council of said City held on Monday the 4th day of December ,
1978, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Jensen, Mi.skimen, Mulryan, Nixon and Mayor Betti.ni
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None
