HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 5191RESOLUTION NO. 5191 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL SUPPORTING THE SEPARATION OF FISCAL OFFICERS AND CITY CLERKS INTO TWO DEPARTMENTS OF THE LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES WHEREAS, the Government Code of the State of California sets out separate and diverse legal responsibilities and duties for City Clerks, City Treasurers and Finance Officers as designated municipal officers; and WHEREAS, the functions of the City Clerk, City Treasurer and Finance Officer are performed by separate departments and officers in most cities in the State of California; and WHEREAS, the benefits to the individual cities mandate separation of the League of California Cities Finance Officers Department into two departments; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San Rafael supports the separation of the Fiscal Officers and City Clerks into two League departments in order that each have the capability of addressing the specific needs of their functions of service to their City Councils, City Managers/ Administrators and communities. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council Member of this City designated as voting delegate to the League of California Cities Conference to be held in San Diego, California in October, 1976 is hereby authorized and directed to vote in general assembly of that body in support of the separation of Fiscal Officers and City Clerks into two League Departments. I, MARION A. GRADY, City Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a Regular meeting of the Council of said City held on Monday, the 4th day of October, 1976, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: COUNCILMEN: Jensen, Mulryan, Nixon and Mayor Bettini NOES: COUNCILMEN: None ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: Miskimen MARION A GRADY, City Clerk 6'ilk e��a
