RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE
COUNTY OF MARIN TO PERMIT THE COUNTY CLERK OF THE COUNTY
OF MARIN TO RENDER SPECIFIED SERVICES RELATING TO THE
CONDUCT OF AN ELECTION AND CANVASS OF RETURNS - GENERAL
MUNICIPAL ELECTION
WHEREAS, the City of San Rafael will hold its general municipal elec-
tion on the 8th day of March, 1977; and
WHEREAS, the elections of the Dixie School District, the Marin Com-
munity College District, and the Marin County Board of Education are to be con-
solidated with said municipal election; and
WHEREAS, the County Clerk of the County of Marin will render services
to the Dixie School District, the Marin Community College District and the Marin
County Board of Education relating to the conduct of their elections and the
City of San Rafael desires that the County Clerk of the County of Marin also
render the services hereinafter specified relating to the conduct of said muni-
cipal election.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
1. The City of San Rafael herewith requests the Board of Supervisors
of the County of Marin to permit the County Clerk of the County of Marin to
render the hereinafter specified services to the City of San Rafael relating
to the conduct of said municipal election.
2. The City of San Rafael shall reimburse the County of Marin for said
City's fair and proportionate share of the cost of said services.
3. Said specified services are:
Provide Voter Indexes
Provide Voter County by Precinct
Provide Polling Place Cards
Arrange for drayage of Polling Place Equipment
Mail sample ballots and inserts
Arrange for printing of Candidates' Statements of qualifications
Arrange for printing of sample and official ballots
Appoint and notify Election Officers
Procure Precinct Polling Places
Order Precinct Supplies
Issue and Canvass Absentee Ballots
Such other services as are necessary to conduct the municipal
election
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED, that pursuant to Election Code Section 23306
the Board of Supervisors of the County of Marin are authorized to canvass the re-
turns of the San Rafael General Municipal Election to be held March 8, 1977 and
request that the County Clerk of the County of Marin be designated as the person
to provide said canvass.
