HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Resolution 5256 (Urban Program)RESOLUTION NO. 5256 A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL ACCEPTING WITH SPECIFIC OBJECTIONS THE FEDERAL -AID URBAN PROGRAM RECOMMENDED BY THE MARIN COUNTY URBAN SYSTEM COMMITTEE WHEREAS, the City of San Rafael will continue to parti- cipate in the Federal -Aid Urban Program for funding approved transportation projects as authorized by the Federal Highway Act of 1973 and succeeding amendments; and WHEREAS, the Federal Highway Act, the State Transporta- tion Board and the Metropolitan Transportation Commission require that a program of projects approved for Federal -Aid Urban funding, be established by a Countywide Committee consisting of representa- tives from each City, the County, Transit District, California Department of Transportation, Golden Gate Bridge District, and the Metropolitan Transportation Commission, and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors has approved procedures for the Federal -Aid Urban Program and the formation of the Marin County Urban System Committee; and WHEREAS, the Marin County Urban System Committee did meet to review the program and new projects which had been submitted for consideration as part of a five-year program; and WHEREAS, the Marin County Urban System Committee did approved a five-year Federal -Aid Urban Program on January 14, 1977; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San Rafael does hereby grudgingly accept the five-year Federal -Aid Urban Program of projects beginning 1977-78 recommended by the Marin County Urban System Committee, but specifically objects to the ranking so far as the Second, Third and Irwin Street Project is concerned because this project should have ranked higher than parking lots and bus turnouts. - 1 - ONG"INAL ESTIMATED SPONSOR/PARTICIPANT PROJECT FAU FUNDING Caltrans/San Rafael Bellam Blvd. at SH 101 $275,000 and SH 17 Caltrans/San Rafael North San Pedro Road at 382,000 SH 101 Caltrans/Tiburon Tiburon Blvd. (SH 131) 830,000 at Trestle Glen Marin County North San Pedro Road 830,000 Caltrans/Novato Redwood Road - Novato 790,000 Caltrans/San Rafael Lucas Valley Road at 643,000 Route 101 Caltrans/Golden Gate Parking Facility at 144,000 Bridge District Manzanita Golden Gate Bridge Bus Commuter Parking Lot - 96,750 District Novato Caltrans/Marin County Tiburon Blvd. at Route 101 415,000 Marin County Transit Bus Turnouts and Bus Stop 207,000 District Benches Caltrans/Marin County/ Ignacio Blvd. at Route 101 1,040,000 Novato Caltrans/San Rafael Lincoln Ave./Merrydale Road 415,000 at Route 101 San Rafael 2nd, 3rd and Irwin Streets - 332,000 Off -Street Parking Novato Novato Blvd. between Grant 976,900 Ave. and Eucalyptus Ave. Golden Gate Bridge Bus Commuter Parking Lot - 161,200 District San Rafael San Anselmo Sir Francis Drake Blvd. - 83,000 Traffic Signals Mill Valley Bus Commuter Parking Lots - 176,800 Miller Ave. Tiburon Tiburon Blvd. at Lyford Dr. - 83,000 Signals Mill Valley Miller Ave. between 288,800 Willow St. and Reed St. - 2 - BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this Resolution be forwarded to the Board of Supervisors of the County of Marin, the California Department of Transportation and to the Metropolitan Transportation Commission for approval as the Marin County Federal - Aid Urban System Program.
