A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SIGNING
OF A LEASE OR AGREEMENT
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL HEREBY RESOLVES as follows:
The MAYOR and CITY CLERK are authorized to execute, on behalf of
the City of San Rafael a lease or agreement with
Basalt Rock Company, holding them harmless during training exercise in May
1977 at Basalt Quarry, San Rafael,
a copy of which is hereby attached and by this reference made a part hereof.
I, MARION A. GRADY, City Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby
certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced
and adopted at a

HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, it is agreed between the BASALT ROCK COMPANY
(hereinafter referred to as "Basalt"), and the CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
FIRE DEPARTMENT (hereinafter referred to as "City"), that the
City shall burn four old wooden structures owned by Basalt,
located at the Basalt Quarry, San Rafael, as a training exercise
to the benefit of both parties;
IT IS HEREBY UNDERSTOOD AND AGREED that in consideration
of the use of the property and the four wooden structures as a
training exercise, the City agrees to hold Basalt harmless for
any liability which may occur as a result of such an exercise
being conducted on the property of Basalt.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties have signed this Agree-
