RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
AUTHORIZING DESTRUCTION OF RECORDS OVER TWO YEARS OLD.
WHEREAS, City now has voluminous records going back for a number
of years; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code, Section 34090, any records
over two years of age may be destroyed; and
WHEREAS, City now desires to destroy those records which are over
two years of age which are no longer necessary.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that upon supplying a list, consul-
tation with and approval of the City Attorney, any department head may
destroy those records, two years or older, not necessary to the continuation
of the regular business of City.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution in no way authorizes
the destruction of:
(a) Records affecting the title to real property or liens
thereon.
(b) Court records.
(c) Records required to be kept by statute.
(d) Records less than two years old.
(e) The minutes, ordinances or resolutions of the legislative
body or of a city board or commission.
I, MARION A. GRADY, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify
that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted
at a regular meeting of the Council of said City held on the 20th day of
June
, 1977, by the following vote, to -wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Miskimen, Mulryan, Nixon and Acting Mayor Jensen
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: Mayor Betti ni
