A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE OPERATION OF THE SECTION
8 HOUSING PROGRAM WITH THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
WHEREAS, under the provisions of Section 8 of the United States
Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, the Department of Housing and
Urban Development is authorized to provide financial assistance to public
housing agencies in providing Housing Assistance Payments to lower and very
low income persons in order that they may secure existing privately owned
rental housing; and
WHEREAS, it is the determination of the Department of Housing and
Urban Development that Section 8 shall not apply to any locality unless the
governing body of the locality gives its permission;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of San
Rafael, as follows:
The Housing Authority of the County of Marin is hereby authorized to
operate the Section 8 Housing Assistance Payments Program (Existing Housing)
within the corporate limits of the City of San Rafael, with the addition of
150 units.
I, MARION A. GRADY, City Clerk of the City of San Rafael, California,
hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced
and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of said City held on
Monday, the 17th day of November, 1975, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Miskimen, Nixon and Mayor Bettini
NOES: COUNCILMEN: Jensen
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: Mulryan
