RESOLUTION NO. 6004
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING ALLOCATION OF FUNDS FROM THE
COUNTY ROAD FUND OF THE COUNTY OF MARIN PURSUANT TO
SECTION 2106 ET SEQUITUR OF THE STREETS AND HIGHWAYS
CODE
WHEREAS, the County of Marin and Cities within the County
have heretofore entered into an "Agreement for Improvement of Urban
Thoroughfare System", dated January 17, 1976, and
WHEREAS, there exists a Cooperative Agreement between the
California Department of Transportation and the County of Marin for
signalizing the intersection of North San Pedro Road/Merrydale Road,
and,
WHEREAS, with the annexation of the area known as the
San Rafael Meadows to the City of San Rafael, the City assumed the
obligations of this joint agreement with Caltrans for signalization,
and,
WHEREAS, the City has received approval of the Marin County
Urban Thoroughfare Committee for the use of Urban Thoroughfare funds
to pay for the City's share of this signalization, and
WHEREAS, the City agrees to provide its share of matching
funds for this signalization amounting to $13,000.00;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of San Rafael
does request the County of Marin to allocate and authorize to be paid
to the City of San Rafael upon completion of said construction, fifty
percent (50%) of the cost of the project or the sum of $13,000.00,
whichever is the lesser sum.
