RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION TO ROBERT A. ROUMIGUIERE,
CHAIRMAN OF THE MARIN COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
WHEREAS, preservation of historical China Camp and the beautiful
adjoining hillside area has long been the desire of the residents of San Rafael;
and
WHEREAS, through the leadership and untiring efforts of Marin
County Supervisor Bob Roumiguiere, on the first day of March, 1976, China Camp
took its first step toward becoming a reality; and
WHEREAS, under State ownership this extremely valuable parcel of
land is to be retained in open space as an urban park serving as a monument to
the environmental and ecological concerns of the City, County and surrounding
region;
NOW NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT REXOLVED that the City Council of the City
of San Rafael hereby extends to Supervisor Bob Roumiguiere sincere appreciation
for his commitment of time, energy and creativity in negotiating and securing
necessary funds for the acquisition and development of China Camp State Park.
I, MARION A. GRADY, City Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby
certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and
adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of said City held on Monday, the
1st day of March, 1976, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Jensen, Miskimen, Mulryan, Nixon and Mayor Bettini
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None
