A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SIGNING
OF A LEASE OR AGREEMENT
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL HEREBY RESOLVES as follows:
The MAYOR and CITY CLERK are authorized to execute, on behalf
of the City of San Rafael a lease or agreement with
JOSEPH FRAIZER FOR CARVING OF BICENTENNIAL PLAQUE
A copy of which is hereby attached and by this reference made a part
hereof.
I, MARION A. GRADY, City Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby
certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced
and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of said
City held on
Monday
the 22nd day of March
19 76 , by the following vote, to wit:

AGREEMENT FOR CARVING OF BICENTENNIAL PLAQUE
THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this day of
March, 1976, by and between JOSEPH FRAIZER, 9 Ross Street,
San Rafael, California (hereinafter called "Contractor") and the
CITY OF SAN RAFAEL, a municipal corporation of the State of
California (hereinafter called "City");
The Contractor, for the consideration hereinafter mentioned,
hereby agrees with City to carve the City of San Rafael Bicentennial
Plaque, in accordance with the design approved by the City Council of
San Rafael and the agreed upon modification of the design, so that
the completed plaque will retain the rectangular shape of the orig-
inal plaque;
City agrees to provide the Contractor with the redwood for
the carving and further agrees to pay the $500.00 award upon com-
pletion of the plaque and acceptance by the City Council.
City further agrees not to use the design as finally agreed
upon for any purpose other than in connection with the display of the
completed plaque.
Contractor agrees not to use the design for any purpose
without the knowledge and consent of the City with the exception:
Contractor shall retain the right to display and publish the design
as one of his works.
The plague must be completed on or before May 1, 1976; if
the plaque is not completed on or before May 1, 1976, Contractor
shall be due no monies.
Contractor agrees that the paint color of Falkirk on the
plaque should be grayed, as submitted on the original design.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have executed this
Agreement on the day and year first above written.
