A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL APPROVING THE
APPLICATION AND THE PROJECT AGREEMENT
FOR HISTORIC PRESERVATION GRANTS-IN-
AID FOR THE CONTINUATION OF THE
FALKIRK RESTORATION PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Congress under Public Law 89-665 has authorized the
establishment of a National Historic Preservation Grants -in -Aid Program, pro-
viding matching funds to the State of California and its political subdivisions for
historic preservation, survey, planning, development and acquisition projects;
and
WHEREAS, the State Department of Parks and Recreation is responsible
for the administration of the program within the state, setting up necessary rules
and procedures governing application by local agencies under the program; and
WHEREAS, said adopted procedures established by the State Department
of Parks and Recreation require the applicant to certify by resolution the approval
of applications and the availability of local matching funds prior to submission
of said applications to the state;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City
of San Rafael hereby:
1. Approves the filing of an application for the National Historic
Preservation Grants -in -Aid assistance for continuation of the
Falkirk Restoration Project; and
2. Appoints the City Manager as agent of the City to coordinate
and process all ancillary documents within the scope of the
attached application, and authorizes said agent to execute on
behalf of the City the attached Project Agreement; and
3. Agrees that all required local matching funds will be provided
for the project.
I, MARION A. GRADY, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify
that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at
a regular meeting of the Council of said City held on Tuesday the
6th day of July , 1976, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Jensen, Miskimen, Mulryan, and Mayor Bettini
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: Nixon
