RESOLUTION NO.
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
AUTHORIZING THE DESIGNATION OF HANDICAPPED ONLY PARKING STALLS
PURSUANT TO CALIFORNIA VEHICLE CODE SECTIONS 22511.7 AND 22511.8
WHEREAS, Section 5.40.160 of the San Rafael Municipal Code
authorizes the control and restriction of parking on City property;
and
WHEREAS, Sections 22511.7 and 22511.8 of the California
Vehicle Code authorize cities, by Resolution, to establish parking
areas for the exclusive use of physically handicapped persons whose
vehicles display distinguishing license plates; and
WHEREAS, it is the intent of the City of San Rafael to
designate such parking spaces on City property for the general
health, benefit, and safety of the citizens of San Rafael;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
That the specific powers granted in Section 5.40.160 of
the San Rafael Municipal Code include the designation of parking
stalls for the exclusive use of physically handicapped persons
whose vehicles display a special distinguishing license plate as
defined in California Vehicle Code Section 22511 or 22511.5.
I, MARION A. GRADY, Clerk of the City of San Rafael,
hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the
City of San Rafael held on the 20th day of September , 1976, by the
following vote, to -wit:
