Converted to pile foundation Constructability would be difficult. Footings fall within the line of influence of the track in some locations. Approx. $1M increase Heavier sheet pile wall at Maserati Dealership to accommodate culvert removal. 60 LF of heavier sheet pile wall. Approx. $100k increase Site constraints –Curb and gutter detail due to right-of-way/corridor constraints. Approx. $175,000 increase Lighting –Path lighting was not included from Rice to Andersen with the 35% design. Approx. $232,000 increase Crosswalk at Rice signalization and safety enhancements not included with the 35% design. Approx. $127,000 Labor shortages Threat of steel tariffs Value Engineering SWH has suggested some opportunities to reduce the project cost through value engineering. SMART, San Rafael and SWH will review these ideas and try to lower the project budget prior to, and during construction. Electing this option may cause SMART to reject inclusion of the MUP into their construction project.
