A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
DEFINING ITS POLICY IN RESPECT TO FLOOD CONTROL ZONE #6
OF THE MARIN COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL ZONE
WHEREAS, the San Rafael Meadows Improvement Association has requested
that annexation proceedings be initiated concerning annexation to the City of San
Rafael; and
WHEREAS, San Rafael has passed the necessary resolution commencing the
annexation proceedings; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to state its policy relative to the con-
tinuation of this Zone.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
San Rafael resolves that:
1. A joint powers agreement between the City and the Flood Control
District be drawn for Zone #6.
2. The terms of the agreement shall specify that the City will assume
the cost and activity associated with normal channel maintenance
and administrative costs of the District.
3. Any taxes levied within the District shall be for major construction,
maintenance or channel alignment within the Zone.
4. Any tax rates levied within the area shall be approved by the San
Rafael City Council.
5. The staff is authorized to work with the Flood Control District to
develop this agreement.
I, MARION A. GRADY, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that
the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a
regular meeting of the Council of said City held on Monday
the 2nd day of June , 1975, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Jensen, Miskimen, Mulryan, Nixon and Mayor Bettini
