A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN RAFAEL URGING SPOUSES OF CITY OFFICIALS AND
EMPLOYEES TO ATTEND AND PARTICIPATE IN CONFERENCES
AND CIVIC MEETINGS
WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the City of San Rafael that spouses
of City officials and employees attend and participate in various conferences and
civic meetings; and
WHEREAS, it is recognized that informed spouses can be a positive
influence for the City of San Rafael by knowledgeably discussing issues of
importance to the City; and
WHEREAS, public funds are not available to defray the cost of
spouses participation and that all costs must therefore be borne by the City
official and employee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council recognizes
said expenses as business expenses and encourages spouse participation in
conferences and civic meetings at their own expense.
1, MARION A. GRADY, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, do hereby
certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and
adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of said City held on the 8th day
of September , 1975, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Jensen, Miskimen, Nixon and Mayor Bettini
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: Mulryan
