A RESOLUTION OF THE SAN RAFAEL CITY COUNCIL
REJECTING BIDS FOR A POLICE/FIRE BOAT AND
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE ON THE OPEN MARKET
WHEREAS, the San Rafael City Council was awarded $20,000.00 by the
State Department of Navigation & Ocean Development for the acquisition of a
Police/Fire boat; and
WHEREAS, in compliance with accepted bidding procedures, specifications
were drawn and submitted to vendors within the area; and
and
WHEREAS, five bids were received for boats of various makes and types;
WHEREAS, upon analysis, none of the bids received met the needs and
demands as determined by the Fire Department and the Police Department; and
WHEREAS, the City Council, under the municipal charter and general law,
has the authority to reject bids and authorize the acquisition on the open market.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the San Rafael City Council rejects
those bids submitted for the Police/Fire boat; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager is authorized to determine
the type of boat necessary for use by the Police and Fire departments and acquire
the boat on the open market.
I, MARION A. GRADY, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that
the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a
Regu 1 a r meeting of the Council of said City on Monday ,
the 6th day of January , 1975 , by the following vote, to -wit:
AYES : COUNCILMEN: Jensen, Miskimen, Mulryan, Nixon and Mayor Bettini
NOES : COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None
