POLICY STATEMENT OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL REGARDING CITIZEN
PARTICIPATION IN THE SAN RAFAEL CENTENNIAL
CELEBRATION
WHEREAS, the City of San Rafael this year is observing the
centennial of its incorpration; and
WHEREAS, the period May 17-27 has been set aside as San Rafael
Centennial Week; and
WHEREAS, an extensive program commemorating the first century
of the City's existence has been prepared for Centen-
nial Week by the San Rafael Centennial Celebration
Committee; and
WHEREAS, all residents of San Rafael and all those employed in
our City should be encouraged to join in this obser-
vance;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the CITY COUNCIL of the CITY
OF SAN RAFAEL encourages all residents and business
places to fly the United States flag during Centennial
Week, May 17-27, and further,
that the CITY COUNCIL encourgges business houses to dis-
play San Rafael Centennial placards and to decorate
windows and store fronts in the theme of the Centennial.
I, MARION A. GRADY, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify
that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and
adopted at regular meeting of the Council of said City on Monday
the 6th day of May ,1974, by the following vote, to -wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Jensen, Miskimen, Mulryan, Nixon and Mayor
Bettini
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None
