RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXERCISE OPTION ON EXTENSION
OF KERNER-BELLAM BOULEVARD, BETTER KNOWN AS PICKLEWEED PARK,
AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO SIGN THE NECESSARY
DOCUMENTS FOR THE PURCHASE OF SAID PROPERTY.
WHEREAS, on the 14th of March, 1974, the City of San Rafael did enter
into an option agreement with McKeon Construction for the purchase of certain
described real property as set forth in Exhibit A attached hereto, and
WHEREAS, said option agreement provides in paragraph 6 that said option
shall not be exercised except at the expiration of a one year period provided
for herein; to wit, June 30, 1974, and that the City shall notify seller in
writing ten days prior to the expiration of this option of its intent to exercise
the same, and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to exercise said option and to authorize
the City Manager to act in its behalf and to authorize the Mayor and City Clerk
to sign the necessary documents instant to said purchase,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Manager, William J. Bielser,
is hereby authorized to exercise that certain option agreement entered into
between the City of San Rafael and McKeon Construction Company on the 14th of
March, 1974 providing for the purchase of the property set forth in Exhibit A
attached hereto.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk of the City of
San Rafael are hereby authorized to execute any and all documents necessary and
proper for the purchase of said property.
I, MARION A. GRADY, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify
that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted
at a regular meeting of the Council of said City on Monday, June 3, 1974, by
the following vote, to wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Jensen, Miskimen, Mulryan, Nixon and Mayor Bettini
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None

all that real property situated in the City of San Rafael,
County of Marin State of California, described as follows:
THAT PORTION of the former Bay Counties Railway rights of way, as
described in a Deed from J. L. Flood to Bay Counties Railway Company,
a corporation, recorded December 5, 1907 in Book 112 of Deeds at page
177, bounded on the Northwest by the Southeasterly line of Lot R, as
shown on the Map entitled, "Map of East San Rafael, Marin Co., Calif.",
filed January 21, 1908 in MaD Book 2 at page 109; on the Southeast
by the Northwesterly line of Lot 11 in Block 19 and the Northwesterly
line of East Railroad, as shown on said Map; on the Southwest by the
Northeasterly line of Sonoma Street as shown on said Map; and on the
Northeast by the Southerly line of the parcel of land conveyed to the
City of San Rafael, a municipal corporation, by Quitclaim Deed recorded
March 3, 1920 in Book 211 of Deeds at page 388, Marin County Records.
EXCEPTI14G THEREFROM that portion conveyed to Eleanor S. Walsh by Deed
recorded June 3, 1968 in Book 2215 of Official Records at page 406,
Marin County Records.
