RESOLUT+ION NO. 4738
RESOLUTION COMMENDING
THE CITY OF SALINAS , CALIFORNIA
ON ITS CENTENNIAL
WHEREAS, incorporation of the City of Salinas was approved
by the State of California the fourth day of March, 1874; and
WHEREAS, in observance of this memorable occasion, the
many historical, educational and ethnic groups of this city will
actively participate in a five month centennial celebration, ending
in June with the very colorful and nationally known "Salinas Rodeo;"
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council
of the City of San Rafael, on behalf of its citizenry who are also
celebrating San Rafael's 100th Birthday, commends the City of
Salinas, passing on the thought that "One good century deserves
another."
I, MARION A. GRADY, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby
certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced
and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of said
City held Monday , the 3rd day
of June , 1974, by the following vote, to -
wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Jensen, Miskimen, Mulryan, Nixon and Mayor
Bettini
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None
