HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 4786RESOLUTION NO. 4786 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL CONSOLIDATING THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD FOR THE PURPOSE OF VOTING ON THE QUESTION OF THE ANNEXATION OF THE TERRITORY KNOWN AS "KNOCK- NABOUL WAY ANNEXATION". WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 35122 of the Government Code of the State of California, the question of annexation may be submitted to the electors of the territory proposed to be annexed at a regular or special election; and WHEREAS, the City Charter of the City of San Rafael specifies that regular municipal elections are the Tuesday after the first Monday in March in each odd numbered year; and WHEREAS, there is to be held a State of California General Election on the 5th day of November, 1974; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Rafael desires to submit the question of annexation to the electors residing in said territory at that election; and WHEREAS, to do so requires the calling of a special election; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the 5th day of November, 1974, is hereby designated as a Special Municipal Election for the purpose of submitting the question of annexation to the electors of the territory known as "Knocknaboul Way Annexation". IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Clerk is authorized to request that this Special Municipal Election be consolidated with the State of California General Election to be held in the City of San Rafael and she is further authorized to conduct all other proceedings necessary to effect such consolidation. I, MARION A. GRADY, City Clerk of the City of San Rafael hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of said City held on the 5th day of August, 1974, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: COUNCILMEN: Jensen, Mulryan, Nixon and Acting Mayor Miskimen NOES: COUNCILMEN: None ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: Mayor Bett i n i MARION A.
