BACKGROUND At its meeting of April 16, 2018, the City Council called for applications to fill one seat on the Design Review Board. The new member would be appointed for a four-year term from 2018 to 2022. Three applications for this Board seat were received in the City Clerk’s Office by the deadline of Tuesday, May 8, 2018. Incumbent Cheryl Lentini did not reapply. On June 26, 2018, the City Council held a special meeting to interview applicants for the Design Review Board, as well as for the Planning Commission a nd Accessibility Commission. The City Council interviewed the three applicants for the Design Review Board and six applicants for the Planning Commission. Following the interviews, there was City Council consensus to leave the Design Review Board seat open and not appoint any of the applicants. The Council also filled the two available seats on the Planning Commission but did not reappoint Commissioner Larry Paul. Staff was directed by the City Council to contact Mr. Paul to see if he would have interest in serving on the Design Review Board. Mr. Paul was contacted and expressed a willingness to serve as member of the Design Review Board for the full four-year term. RECOMMENDED ACTION It is recommended that the City Council appoint Larry Paul to the Design Review Board to the end of June 2022. ATTACHMENTS 1.
