SAN RAFAEL DESIGN REVIEW BOARD MEMBER
Cheryl Lentini was appointed to the San Rafael Design Review Board in June 2009 and has served
on the Design Review Board for nine (9) years. Cheryl's participation on the Design Review Board
will forever be known for her keen ability to understand the multitude General Plan pol icies, review
criteria, and guidelines affecting project design , and listening, understanding and weighing diverse
public comment in assessing her well-reasoned decisions on planning projects; and
in 2014, Cheryl served as Chair of the Design Review Board, and as chair, she was well-regarded
by both staff and her fellow Design Review Board Members for her efficient management of Board
meetings and gracious approach to facilitating public participation during these public meetings;
and
during her tenure on the Design Review Board, Cheryl contributed to the long-range planning of the
City through her participation in the review of the 2011 and 2015 updates to the San Rafael
Genera! Plan 2020, comprehensive amendments to the City's Zoning Ordinance, and development
of the Downtown Station Area Plan, Canalfront Conceptual Design Plan, Climate Change Action
Plan and General Plan 2020 Sustainability Element; and
during her tenure, the Design Review Board reviewed numerous important community
development projects which will positively impact the City for many decades including: the Airport
Recreational Facil ity, BERST/Green Bui ld ing Ordinance, Guide Dogs for the Blind campus
renovations, Kaiser Terra Linda Emergency Department and Parking Structure addition, new
Target Store at Shoreline Center, Northgate Mall renovations; 21 G St townhomes, new science
center at Marin Academy and 815 B St residential development, as well as countless smaller
projects; and
Cheryl used her background as a professional licensed architect with 31 years of experience, to
provide valuable guidance on design to improve the overall attractiveness of development and
redevelopment in the City of San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, Cheryl will be remembered for her interest and passion in protecting the San Rafael
neighborhoods, the City's abundant environmental resources, protecting the general quality of life
and character of the community and enhancing the design of the built environment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT R SOLVED, that the Mayor and City Council of the City of San Rafael hereby extend their
ciation for the untless contributions Cheryl Lentini has made to the better ent of the community and its
day of
City Clerk
