Tam Watershed Facts •1,000 acres of fuel breaks built and maintained •$100 million invested in fire flow improvements since 1997 •Local partnerships Wildfire Prevention Maintaining Infrastructure Renewing Our Water System In the last 10 years, $203,000,000 invested in infrastructure: –Seismically upgraded filters at San Geronimo and Bon Tempe Water Treatment Plants –Replaced 34 deficient storage tanks –Replaced 74 miles of deficient pipe –Recoated 10 storage tanks Invested $28 million in San Rafael –Replaced 71,000 feet of deficient pipe –Replaced three storage tanks –Invested $4M to upgrade the Forbes Reservoir, originally constructed in 1894, and is the primary storage facility for San Rafael. –Upgraded/rehabilitated 7 storage tanks (i.e. seismic upgrades, tank recoating) Future Infrastructure Maintenance In the next 10 years, we plan to invest $211,000,000 to maintain infrastructure: –Replace 56 miles of deficient pipe –Recoat 7 storage tanks –Continue upgrading San Geronimo and Bon Tempe Water Treatment Plants –Repair major slides on watershed Water Conservation Residential Rebates $150 Toilets Clothes Washers $50 Pool Covers Mulch Rain Barrels Hot water recirculating system Greywater (Laundry to landscape) Business Conservation Programs Commercial CAP Site Surveys --1995-present Commercial Turf Replacement Program --2018 High-Efficiency Urinal (HEU) Rebates --2013-present High-Efficiency Toilet Rebates --2013-present Restaurant Water/Energy Replacement Rebates –2018 Free pre-rinse spray valves for restaurants --2003-present Linen Reuse & Water Upon Request Table Tents --2011-present Connect With us! www.marinwater.org Find us on Social Media!
