Renewing Our Water System
In the last 10 years,
$203,000,000 invested in infrastructure:
–Seismically upgraded filters at San Geronimo
and Bon Tempe Water Treatment Plants
–Replaced 34 deficient storage tanks
–Replaced 74 miles of deficient pipe
–Recoated 10 storage tanks
Invested $28 million in San Rafael
–Replaced 71,000 feet of deficient pipe
–Replaced three storage tanks
–Invested $4M to upgrade the Forbes Reservoir,
originally constructed in 1894, and is the
primary storage facility for San Rafael.
–Upgraded/rehabilitated 7 storage tanks (i.e.
seismic upgrades, tank recoating)
Future Infrastructure Maintenance
In the next 10 years, we plan to invest
$211,000,000 to maintain infrastructure:
–Replace 56 miles of deficient pipe
–Recoat 7 storage tanks
–Continue upgrading San Geronimo and Bon
Tempe Water Treatment Plants
–Repair major slides on watershed
