Resolution of Appreciation
Presented to
ERIC HOLM
WHEREAS, Eric Holm served on the ADA Access Advisory Committee for the City of San Rafael for 9
years, from 2009 to 2018; and
WHEREAS, in 2004 the City of San Rafael entered into a Settlement Agreement with the Department of
Justice, which required that barriers to programs, facilities and services be removed.
Consequently, the ADA Access Advisory Committee was established to ensure that the City
of San Rafael was in compliance; and
WHEREAS, Eric played a significant role in bringing San Rafael into compliance with the Americans with
Disabilities Act (ADA). During his tenure, he created a community that became increasingly
more accessible to our residents and visitors with disabilities; and
WHEREAS, for the last fourteen years, the City has been working to comply with the requirements of the
Settlement Agreement and Eric has been instrumental for 9 of those years, bringing his
insight, knowledge, and experience to the Committee; and
WHEREAS, Eric specifically helped implement accessible curb ramps to benefit people with low vision
and no vision, as well as detectable warning devices; and
WHEREAS, Eric took great honor in serving the community through his active participation on the ADA
Access Advisory Committee for the City of San Rafael. His light-hearted and friendly
demeanor will be sorely missed.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby expresses its heartfelt appreciation for
Eric Holm’s service on the ADA Access Advisory Committee.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of San Rafael held this 3rd day
of December 2018.
