RESOLUTION HONORING FIRE CHIEF
VANCE TRIVETT UPON HIS RETIRE-
MENT
WHEREAS, after thirty-three years of distinguished service in the
field of fire fighting, FIRE CHIEF VANCE TRIVETT has
voluntarily elected to take a well deserved retirement;
and
WHEREAS, during his thirteen years with the City of San Rafael Fire
Department, eleven as its Chief, CHIEF TRIVETT'S high level
of competence and professional skill contributed immeasurably
toward the reshaping and development of an antiquated fire
department into one of the finest in the Bay Area; and
WHEREAS, CHIEF TRIVETT'S professional knowledge in the field of fire
science is well recognized and highly respected throughout
the State of California, evident by his having been chosen
to serve as a member of the State Fire Advisory Board,
President of the Fire Chief Section of the League of Cali-
fornia Cities, and President of the State Firemen's Associa-
tion.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL hereby commends
FIRE CHIEF VANCE TRIVETT for the devoted and exemplary ser-
vice he has rendered to the citizens of this community and
extends to him sincere and best wishes for a happy and
healthy retirement.
I, MARION A. GRADY, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify
that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly in-
troduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of
said City held on Monday, the 16th day of August, 1971, by
the following vote, to -wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Barbier, Jensen, Miskimen, Mulryan and Mayor Bettini
