RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL RENAMING
TAMALPAIS AVENUE IN THE SAN RAFAEL MEADOWS AREA
"REDWOOD HIGHWAY"
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of San Rafael,
on the 11th day of January , 1972, recommended the renaming of
Tamalpais Avenue to Chiesa Way;
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of San Rafael
determined that the public necessity, convenience and general welfare
requires the change of street name, and that the change of street name
will eliminate confusion;
WHEREAS, the matter came on regularly for consideration by
the City Council of the City of San Rafael on the 17th day of January,
1972;
WHEREAS, persons representing business firms fronting on
this street have used Redwood Highway as their address for several
years and object to the inconvenience and expense of changing stationery,
telephone listings and advertising;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED that Tamalpais Avenue in the
San Rafael Meadows area be renamed "Redwood Highway", said street name
change to be effective January 17th, 1972.
I, MARION A. GRADY, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby
certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced
and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of San
Rafael held on the 17th day of January 1972, by the follow-
ing vote, to -wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Barbier, Jensen, Miskimen, Mulryan and Mayor
Bettini
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None
