RESOLUTION NO. 4142
RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE STATE DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS
TO PROVIDE ACCESS FROM HIGHWAY 17 TO THE PROPERTY OF
THE GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE, HIGHWAY AND TRANSPORTATION
DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation
District has constructed its bus facilities in the City of San Rafael in
the area bounded by Highway 101 and Highway 17 where a serious traffic
problem exists and which is aggrevated by the bus facilities, and
WHEREAS, serious traffic congestion now exists on Highway
101 off -ramp in the City of San Rafael and on Francisco Boulevard in
said City, and the construction of an off -ramp from Highway 17 would help
to alleviate said congestion on said off -ramp, Francisco Boulevard and
Jacoby Street in the City of San Rafael;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of San Rafael does hereby urgently request the State Division of
Highways to cooperate with the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transporta-
tion District in their proposal to have constructed an off -ramp from High-
way 17 to better serve Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation Dis-
trict bus facilities located on Jacoby in said City.
I, MARION A. GRADY, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby
certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced
and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of said City held on
Monday the 17th day of January , 1972, by the following vote,
to -wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Barbier, Jensen, Miskimen, Mulryan and Mayor Bettini
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None
