RESOLUTION GIVING NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION
TO CITY OF SAN RAFAEL OF UNINHABITED TERRITORY
DESCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED "LUCAS GREEN
ANNEXATION," AND GIVING NOTICE OF TIME AND PLACE
FOR HEARING OF PROTEST THERETO
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the annexation of
Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939 a petition signed by owners of not less
than one fourth of the land by area and by assessed value, as shown on the
last equalized assessment roll of the County of Marin, in the hereinafter
described territory was filed with the City Council of the City of San
Rafael on the 28th day of February , 1972, requesting annexation
of the hereinafter described territory to said City; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Sections 35305 and 35306 of the Govern-
ment Code of the State of California the City Council shall, without delay,
under the aforesaid circumstances, pass a resolution giving notice of the
proposed annexation, describing the boundaries of the territory, designat-
ing it by an appropriate name and setting a time and place wherein the City
Council will hear written protests against the annexation made by persons
owning real property within the territory; and
WHEREAS, the matter of the proposed annexation to the City
of San Rafael of said territory has been referred to the Local Agency For-
mation Commission for its consideration and approval, and said Local Agency
Formation Commission approved the annexation of said uninhabited territory
to the City of San Rafael prior to the circulation or filing of the peti-
tion hereinabove referred to;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
San Rafael, as follows:
1. That Monday , the 17th of April , 1972,
at the hour of 8:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers in the City Hall in the
City of San Rafael, California, being a date at least forty (40) and not
more than sixty (60) days after the date of passage of the resolution, is
hereby fixed as the time and place, when and where the City Council of
the City of San Rafael, California, will hear written protests against

said annexation by any person owning real property within said territory
and NOTICE of the time and place of said hearing is hereby given.
2. The City Clerk shall cause a copy of the within Resolu-
tion to be published at least twice but not more often than once a week,
in the Independent Journal, a newspaper of general circulation published
in the City of San Rafael and also in a newspaper of general circulation
published outside of the City of San Rafael but in the County of Marin,
State of California, which publication shall be completed at least twenty
(20) days prior to the date set forth above for the above described hear-
ing.
3. The City Clerk shall also cause written notice of the
above proposed annexation to be mailed to each person to whom land within
the territory proposed to be annexed is assessed in the last equalized
Marin County Assessment Roll available on the date that these proceedings
were initiated, at the address shown on said Assessment Roll or as known
to said Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name and address and
the designation of the lands in which he has any interest, either legal
or equitable, with said Clerk. Said notice shall be given not less than
twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexa-
tion.
4. That for appropriate name of said territory so proposed
to be annexed to the City of San Rafael, the same is hereby designated as
LUCAS GREEN ANNEXATION
and the boundaries of said territory so pro-
posed to be annexed are specifically described on Exhibit "A" which is
attached hereto and incorporated herein in full by reference.

certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced
and adopted at an adjourned regular meeting of the Council of said City
held on the 28th day of February 1972, by the following vote,

Lucas Green to be Annexed to the City
of San Rafael, Marin County, California.
That certain real property situate in the County of Marin, State of California
described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the City Limits of the City of San Rafael, said point
being the intersection of the courses called "South 52° 46' East, 689 feet"
and "South 0° 45' East, 446. 30 feet" as described in the "San Rafael
Charter Ordinance No. 803", dated 4 January 1965, said point also being on
the westerly boundary of Lucas Valley Road as shown on that certain Record
of Survey titled "Los Gamos Drive Extension" filed July 19, 1966 in Book 6
of Surveys at Page 8, Marin County Records; thence leaving said "San Rafael
Charter Ordinance No. 803 "boundary and proceeding along the said
westerly boundary of Lucas Valley Road (6 O. S. 8) the following courses and
distances: South 48° 29' East, 260.10 feet; South 48° 07' East, 274.48 feet;
thence leaving said westerly boundary of Lucas Valley Road ( 6 O. S. 8)
South 46° 35' 22" East, 264.11 feet; thence South 43° 54' 05" Fast, 30.06 feet;
thence North 43° 09' 10" East, 60. 00 feet to a point on the northerly boundary
line of "Parcel 2" as described in the deed from Julia T. Sequeira, et al,
to the County of Marin, a political subdivision, recorded in Book 1479 of
Official Records at page 578, Marin County Records, said point being the
westerly terminus of the line described as "South 59° 56' East, 347.63 feet"
in the aforementioned deed (1479 OR 578); Thence along said northerly
boundary line (1479 or 578) the following courses and distances: South 59° 56' 00"
East, 347. 63 feet; along a curve to the left, tangent to the preceding course,
having a radius of 50. 00 feet, an arc length of 96. 69 feet to a point on the
westerly line of California State Highway 101; thence leaving said boundary
(1479 OR 578) southeasterly 221 feet, more or less, to a point on the City Limits
of the City of San Rafael distant thereon North 9° 11' East, 166 feet, more or less,
from the southerly terminus of the line described as "South 9° 11' West,
670. 28 feet" as described in the "San Rafael Charter Ordinance No. 959".,
dated October 20, 1969; thence along said City Limits line of the City of San
Rafael, the following courses and distances; South 9° 11' West, 166 feet,
more or less; along a curve to the left whose radius point bears South
41° 54' 16" West, having a radius of 183 feet, an arc length of 217.17 feet;
South 18° 06' West, 18.09 feet; along a curve to the left, having a radius of
30 feet, an arc length of 44. 77 feet; South 67 ° 24' East, 31. 15 feet; South
10* 32' West, 70 feet; South 77 ° 32' West, 50. 34 feet; along a curve to
the left, having a radius of 50 feet, an arc length of 51.87 feet; South 18
06' West, 218.17 feet; along a curve to the right having a radius of 388
feet, an arc length of 100 feet; South 32 ° 52' West, 138. 40 feet; along a
curve to the left, having a radius of 400 feet, an arc length of 107.16 feet;
South 17 ° 31' West, 94. 01 feet; North 89 ° 25' East, 44.49 feet; along a
curve nontangent to the preceding course whose radius point bears South

a point on the westerly line of California State Highway 101 as shown on that
certain Record of Survey "Los Gamos Drive Extension, in the County of
Marin, California", filed in Book 6 of Surveys at Page 8, Marin County
Records; thence along said westerly line South 17° 31' West, 180 feet, more
or less, to the intersection of the courses called "South 17° 31' West,
538. 02' "and South 210 51' 24" West, 358. 99' ", as shown on said survey
(6 OR 8); thence leaving the westerly line of said highway South 17° 31'
West, 890 feet, more or less, to a point which bears North 2° 25' West, 37.09
feet and North 87° 35' East, 210 feet, more or less, from the intersection of the
courses set forth as "North 10° 26' East, 163 feet" and "North 2° 25' West,
328 feet" in that certain deed from Manuel J. Fagunde§ et al, to Billings -
Hutchison, Inc. , a corporation, recorded March 28, 1960 in Book 1355 of
Official Records, at Page 368, :Marin County Records, said point being
on the easterly line of the "Sar. Rafael Charter Ordinance No. 803"; thence
South 87° 35' West, 210 feet, more or less, to a point on said easterly line of
"San Rafael Charter Ordinance No. 803"; thence along said easterly line
the"following courses and distances: North 2° 25' West, 290. 915 feet;
North 34° 09' West, 367.00 feet; North 39° 35' East, 353.00 feet; North 0° 18'
East, 194. 00 feet; North 35' 51' West, 620. 00 feet; North 49 ° 55' East, 505.00
feet; North 8° 45' West, 392.00 feet; North 74° 34' West, 209.00 feet;
South 70° 47' West, 155. 00 feet; North 6° 00' West, 170. 00 feet; North 48° 18'
East, 433.83 feet; North 0° 45' West, 446. 90 feet to the Point of Beginning.
