RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL,
CALIFORNIA, RELATING TO OFFICIAL COPIES OF PLANS OF
BUILDINGS FOR WHICH BUILDING PERMITS ARE ISSUED.
WHEREAS, effective March 4, 1972, the State of California added
Chapter 10 (commencing with Section 19850) to Part 3, Division 13 of the
Health and Safety Code; and,
WHEREAS, Section 19850 of the Health and Safety Code provides that
the building department of every city or county shall maintain an official copy,
which may be on microfilm or other type of photographic copy, of the plans of
every building, during the life of such building, for which such department
issued a permit; and,
WHEREAS, Section 19852 of the Health and Safety Code provides that the
governing body of a city or county may prescribe such fees as will pay the
expenses incurred by the building department of such city or county in main-
taining the official copy of the plans of buildings for which it has issued
a building permit;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of San Rafael hereby resolves as follows:
1. Effective May 4, 1972, the Building Department is charged with
the responsibility of complying with the provisions of Health and Safety Code
Section 19850; and,
2. Effective May 4, 1972, the fees to pay the expenses incurred by
the Building Department in maintaining the official copy of the plans of buildings
for which it has issued a building permit shall be as follows:
Size of Sheet
8-1/2" x 11" or smaller
Larger than 8-1/2" x 11"
Fee
10� per sheet
30� per sheet
Any document which contains information on two sides shall be considered as
two sheets.
