RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO INCUR BONDED INDEBTEDNESS FOR
ACQUISITION OF OPEN SPACE LANDS, CITY OF SAN RAFAEL,
MARIN COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
WHEREAS, there exist within the City of San Rafael
open spaces and open areas characterized by great natural
scenic beauty and whose existing openness, natural condition,
or present state of use, if retained, will enhance the present
or potential value of abutting or surrounding urban development,
or will maintain or enhance the conservation of natural or
scenic resources,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of San Rafael, Marin County, State of California, as follows:
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 43607 of the
Government Code of the State of California, this City Council
hereby determines that the public interest and necessity demand
the acquisition of a municipal improvement, to wit: the acquisition
of the fee title or any lesser interest or right in real property
constituting "open space" or "open area" as such terms are defined
in Section 6954 of the Government Code of the State of California.
This City Council hereby further finds that the acquisi-
tion of said municipal improvement requires an expenditure greater
than the amount allowed for it by the annual tax levy of the
City of San Rafael.
The City Council hereby declares its intention, by
ordinance hereafter to be adopted, to submit to the qualified
voters of the City of San Rafael by special election the proposi-
tion of incurring a bonded indebtedness in the amount of Two
Million Two Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($2,250,000.00) for the
purpose of making the acquisitions herein set forth.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly
and regularly passed and adopted by a two-thirds vote of all of
the members of the City Council of the City of San Rafael, Marin
County, State of California, at a regular meeting thereof, held
on the 19th day of June, 1972, by the following vote, to wit:
