RESOLUTION SUPPORTING FEDERAL -AID URBAN SYSTEM
WHEREAS, the Federal Highway Act of 1970 established the Federal -
Aid Urban System, and
WHEREAS, the recently completed Functional Classification Study
has been recommended as a basis for determining routes to be included in the
Urban System, and
WHEREAS, the Functional Classification Study is a continuing joint
process between the Division of Highways and local agencies,
BE IT RESOLVED,that the City of San Rafael supports the use of
Functional Classification System for determining the Federal -Aid Urban System
and other present and future Federal -Aid Systems, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of San Rafael approves the
interim Federal -Aid systems within its jurisdiction'; more specifically, the
one-way couple of Second and Third Streets from Highway 101 to First Street,
with the reservation that such systems are subject to periodic review and
updating as needed.
