RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SAN RAFAEL, AMENDING RESOLUTION
NO. 4289 (SALARY RESOLUTION)
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of San Rafael
to amend Resolution No. 4289 entitled "A Resolution of the Council of the City
of San Rafael Providing for Certain Officers, Assistants, Deputies, Clerks and
Employees of the City of San Rafael and Fixing the Compensation and Working
Conditions Thereof" as follows:
Section 1. Amending Section 12 entitled "Uniform
Allowance" to read as follows:
All members of the Police and Fire Departments,
with the exception of certain designated clerical personnel,
shall receive a uniform allowance in the amount of $75.00 at
the completion of each six months of service ending ,lune 30
and December 31; a proration of the rate of $12.50 per month
may be given for a portion of the first and last six months
of service upon recommendation of the Department Head and
approval of the City Manager. An advanced uniform allowance
of One Hundred and Fifty ($150.00) Dollars will be made to
all safety personnel upon employment.
The City shall provide two (2) pairs of cover-
alls, or shirt and pants, annually at an amount not to exceed
Twenty -Five ($25.00) Dollars for maintenance employees in the
following departments as recommended by the Director of Public
Works: Street Maintenance, Street Cleaning, Street Painting,
Storm and Sanitary Sewers, Electrical, Street Trees and Parkways.
Section 2. Amending Section 13 entitled "Employee
Insurance Program" to read as follows:
The City shall contribute a total amount of
$32.47 per month toward the cost of each employee's insurance
package which must include a basic health, accident and
$5,000.00 life insurance policy as selected by the City. Any
amount over and above the premium cost for said health, accident
and life insurance package may be applied toward the other
employee insurance programs provided for by the City of San
Rafael which include major medical, dependent life, supplemental
life and disability insurance.
Section 14. Title of Resolution. This resolution shall
be known as the Position and Salary Resolution and shall be referred to as such.
Section 15. This resolution shall take effect forthwith
upon its adoption and the several compensations and allowances herein provided
shall be in full force and effect as of and from September 1_, 1972

hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly in-
troduced and adopted at an regular meeting of the Council
of said City on Monday , the 20th day of November , 1972,
by the following vote, to -wit:
AYES: Councilmen: Jensen, Miskimen, Mulryan and Mayor Bettini
NOES: Councilmen: None
ABSENT: Councilmen: None
