RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF $321,085.50 FOR THE PURCHASE
OF CERTAIN OPEN SPACE LANDS.
WHEREAS, the Lucas Valley Open Space Assessment District has
been formed for the purpose of purchasing certain parcels of property
in the City of San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, the City of San Rafael has agreed to participate in the
purchase of said property; and
WHEREAS, said Assessment District has not yet sold the Bonds
authorized by the voters in said District for the purchase of said
lands; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to complete the purchase of said pro-
perty as quickly as possible to avoid penalties.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of San Rafael shall
hereby advance the sum of $321,085.50 for and on behalf of the pur-
chase of that certain parcel of land owned by Meislin and Glickman
and a parcel of land owned by the Marin Housing Guild, the sum of
$158,500 being the authorized contribution by the City of San Rafael
for said purchase, and the sum of $162,558.50 being advanced for and
on behalf of the Lucas Valley Open Space Assessment District.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Clerk of the
City of San Rafael are hereby authorized and directed to sign any
and all papers or documents necessary for the completion and acquisition
of the above mentioned parcels of property.
I, MARION A. GRADY, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby
certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly intro-
duced and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of said City
held on the 12th day of March , 1973, by the following vote,
to -wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Jensen, Miskimen, Mulryan and Mayor Bettini.
