A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL EMERGENCY
PLAN AND CERTAIN PORTIONS OF THE COUNTY OF MARIN
EMERGENCY PLAN
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of San Rafael passed Ordinance No. 1085
on November 8, 1972, establishing the Emergency Services Organization required
by the State of California Emergency Services Act of 1970; and
WHEREAS, this City passed Resolution No. 4324 N.S. on the 8th of November,
1972, making it a member of the unified emergency services organization known
as the Marin Operational Area, of which the County and the other cities and
towns in the County of Marin are also members; and
WHEREAS, this City's emergency plan has been approved by the State of
California Office of Emergency Services and is now an annex of t:he County of
Marin and Marin Operational Area Emergency Plan in accordance with B3, Resolution
No. 4324, which is the joint resolution referred to above; and
WHEREAS, this City recognizes its dependence on the County of Marin and
Marin Operational Area Emergency Services Organization for certain emergency
and resource services this City might not be able to provide for itself during
a Local Emergency, State of Emergency, or State of War Emergency condition as
comtemplated by the State of California Emergency Services Act of 1970;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of San Rafael
hereby adopts the City of San Rafael Emergency Plan dated April 1973, copy of
which is on file in the office of the City Clerk;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of San Rafael hereby
adopts the County of Marin and Marin Operational Area Emergency Plan and the
attachments and annexes which may be meaningfully applied to this City as
integral portions of the City of San Rafael Emergency plan dated April 1973

for those war or peacetime emergencies which this City cannot cope with within
its own resources as contemplated by the California Master Mutual Aid Agreement
and the Operational Area Joint Resolution referred to above, to which this
City of San Rafael is signatory.
