RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL AUTHORIZING THE
FIRE CHIEF AS THE "ISSUING AUTHORITY" FOR EXPLOSIVE
PERMITS WITHIN THE JURISDICTION OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL.
WHEREAS, Section 12007 of the Health and Safety Code, amended
during the 1972 legislative session, requires the City Council of
the City of San Rafael to designate an authorized person as the issu-
ing authority for explosive permits and notify the State Fire Marshal;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Rafael can
designate either the Fire or Police Chief as the authorized person;
and
WHEREAS, the Fire Department has been charged with the respon-
sibility under the Uniform Fire Code, and has the permit and fee
structure for issuance of such permits; and
WHEREAS, the Fire Department has been issuing such permits
for approximately twenty (20) years.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of San Rafael appoint and name the Fire Chief as the issuing
authority of explosive permits, and that he notify the State Fire
Marshal of the designated person.

certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly intro-
duced and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of said City
held -on the 21st day of May , 1973, by the following vote, to -wit:

Bettini.
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None.
