RESOLUTION NO. 4664
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION OF THE
STATE OF CALIFORNIA TO LANDSCAPE HIGHWAY 101 IN SAN RAFAEL
WHEREAS, State Highway 101 through San Rafael has only a minimum
of landscaping and planting; and
WHEREAS, the Division of Highways of the Department of Transporta-
tion has indicated that future widening of Highway 101 through San Rafael is
indefinite as to time and availability of funds; and
WHEREAS, the City of San Rafael has undertaken steps to beautify the
City by requiring extensive landscaping on private developments, by underground-
ing utilities and by adopting and enforcing a rigid sign ordinance;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of San Rafael does hereby
request the Division of Highways of the Department of Transportation to land-
scape, plant trees and shrubs, and replace unsightly fences along the Highway 101
Right of Way through San Rafael.
I, MARION A. GRADY , Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby
certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and
adopted at a Regular meeting of the Council of said City held on MONDAY
the 4TH day of FEBRUARY 19 74 , by the following vote, to -wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Jensen, Miskimen, Mulryan, Nixon and Mayor Bettini.
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None.
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None.
