RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL AUTHORIZING
PARTICIPATION IN THE MARIN COUNTY CENTRAL IN-
VESTIGATIONS UNIT PROJECT.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Rafael desires to parti-
cipate in a certain project designated as Marin County Central Investigations
Unit to be funded in part from funds made available through the Omnibus Crime
Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968, Public Law 90-355, as amended, Public
Law 91-644, (hereafter referred to as the Safe Streets Act) administered by
the California Council on Criminal Justice (hereafter referred to as CCCJ.)
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of San Rafael authorizes
the use of City owned equipment and personnel, for law enforcement purposes, to
be utilized in conjunction with the written procedures and policies of the Cen-
tral Investigation Unit, with the understanding that the City of San Rafael
accepts any liability which may be incurred for said equipment and personnel
while engaging in the duties as will be required by this Unit.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of San Rafael agrees to provide
its share of matching funds required for said project (including any extension
or amendment thereof) under the Safe Streets Act and the rules and regulations
of CCCJ and the Law Enforcement Assistance Administration, and that cash will
be appropriated as required thereby for a period of six (6) months and not to
exceed $100.00 cash expenditure.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that grant funds received hereunder shall not
be passed to supplant on-going law enforcement expenditures.
I, MARION A. GRADY, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify
that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at
a regular meeting of the Council of said City held on the 4th day of March ,
1974, by the following vote, to -wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Jensen, Miskimen, Mulryan, and Nixon
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: Mayor Bettini
