RESOLUTION OF THE SAN RAFAEL CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A SIX-MONTH PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
AGREEMENT WITH THE AGRICULTURAL INSTITUTE OF MARIN TO MANAGE THE
DOWNTOWN SAN RAFAEL MARKET FOR THE 2019 SEASON
WHEREAS, the San Rafael City Council has determined that it is in the City’s best interest
to obtain management services for the organization and operation of the Downtown San Rafael
Market (hereinafter “Market”); and
WHEREAS, the Agricultural Institute of Marin (hereinafter “AIM”) has experience in providing
management services and special technical skills to ensure a successful Market; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to employ AIM to provide such services and AIM is willing and
able to provide said services; and
WHEREAS, all other costs incurred by AIM for the Market will be paid by AIM from Market
gross receipts and shall not be an obligation of the City;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby authorizes the City
Manager to execute a six-month agreement with the Agricultural Institute of Marin (AIM) to manage
the Downtown San Rafael Market for the 2019 season subject to final approval as to form by the
City Attorney.
I, LINDSAY LARA, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was
duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
San Rafael, held on Monday, the 20th day of May 2019, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers: Bushey, Colin, Gamblin, McCullough & Mayor Phillips
NOES: Councilmembers: None
ABSENT: Councilmembers: None
